Fatal wreck near St. Peter

A Louisville woman died from injuries sustained in a one-vehicle accident near St. Peter on Sunday afternoon.
According to the Illinois State Police, Laura K. Schnautz, 48, was driving a 1999 Toyota Corolla north on Ill. Route 185, about two miles east of St. Peter, and continued north on a gravel field road when her vehicle left the roadway on the right and struck a concrete culvert.
The accident occurred at about 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Schnautz was taken to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital by Fayette County Hospital Ambulance service, and was later pronounced dead at the hospital by the Effingham County coroner.
The state police noted that Schnautz was wearing her seat belt when the accident occurred.
