Gary Berg running for soybean board
The Illinois Department of Agriculture last week announced the candidates for three state commodity boards.
Producers will vote on July 6 to determine the membership of the Illinois Corn Marketing Board, Illinois Soybean Program Operating Board and Illinois Sheep and Wool Marketing Board.
No local candidates are running for the corn board; Carl Dillow of Anna is a write-in candidate on the sheep board; and Gary Berg of St. Elmo is the candidate for District 13 of the soybean board. That district represents Fayette, Montgomery, Bond and Marion counties.
Ballots will be cast at county Extension offices.
