Fair gets under way this weekend

This year’s edition of the Fayette County Fair gets under way this weekend at the fairgrounds in Brownstown with the start of the 4-H show on Saturday and a truck and tractor pull on Sunday.
The grandstand schedule for this year’s fair is:
• Sunday – Truck and tractor pull at 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-1, with pit passes costing $15.
• Monday – Miss Fayette County and Little Miss Fayette County pageant at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-11.
• Tuesday – Junior Miss Fayette County pageant at 6:30 p.m., with the Mr. Fayette County pageant to follow. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 6-11.
• Wednesday – Stock car racing at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-11, with pit passes costing $30.
• Thursday – C-Bar Rodeo at 7 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-11, with pit passes costing $15. Team penning is at 6:30 p.m., and “Battle Creek Band” with Wes Wheeler performing from 9-11 p.m.
• Friday – Clayton Anderson concert at 7 p.m., with “Cedar Ridge Band” and “Twisted Road” also performing. Grandstand tickets at $10, and trackside tickets are $15.
• Saturday – Talent show and performance by YMCA karate students, 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults and $1 for children ages 6-11.
Children age 5 and under will be admitted free of charge to all grandstand attractions.
