Fair begins on Saturday

The Fayette County Fair begins its 2011 run this Saturday with 4-H and junior shows, and concludes next Saturday evening with a demolition derby.
This year’s fair includes the return of many popular grandstand attractions, as well as some new entertainment on the second night.
The grandstand schedule for this year’s fair is as follows:
• Sunday – Junior Miss Fayette County Pageant at 2 p.m. Ashley Edwards will perform at 6 p.m., followed by a performance by Matt Passalacaqua.
• Monday – Fayette County 4-H Livestock Auction at 6 p.m., and Miss Fayette County and Little Miss Fayette County Pageant at 7 p.m.
• Tuesday – Central Illinois Tractor Pullers and a local truck pull at 7 p.m.
• Wednesday – An ITPA tractor pull at 6:30 p.m.
• Thursday – C-Bar Rodeo at 7 p.m.
• Friday – Stock car racing at 7 p.m.
• Saturday – Demolition derby at 7 p.m.
The carnival opens at 5 p.m. on Sunday and at 5 p.m. each day through Friday.
Admission to the fairgrounds is $2 for adults (age 13 and over); children ages 12 and under will be admitted free.
