ExxonMobil Annuitants

The ExxonMobil Annuitants Club met on Jan. 27 at noon for their meeting and luncheon at Ponderosa Steakhouse in Vandalia.
There were two guests and 20 members present for the meeting. Guests present were Jane Hammond and Sandy Dawes. The pledge to the flag was given,  followed by the meal prayer by Vera Miller.
After the meal, the meeting was opened with a welcome. The secretary/treasurer reports for November were read and approved. Birthdays and anniversaries for December and January were read.
A report was given on several members with health issues and cards were signed to send to the two that had surgery and are recovering at home.
Since the club did not meet in December, due to weather conditions, officers for the 2011 club year were not elected.
A motion was made and seconded to retain the same officers for the new year and the motion carried.
Dean Black will continue as president, Elloise Black will be secretary/treasurer, and Cy Locke will be vice president. Several members paid their dues for 2011.
Next month's meeting will be on Feb. 24, with the club paying for the meal. Meeting was then adjourned.
Dean Black turned the meeting over to Carolyn Johnson and Jane Hammond, who had prepared games for the December meeting that the club didn’t have, so a late Christmas party was held with fun games and music.
Prizes were awarded to the winners of the games and Cy Locke won the door prize of a box of Christmas candy.
Members present: Butch and Martha Shelton, Vera Miller, Dorothy Meier, and Dallas and Jo Fairley, Altamont; Helen Wright, and Bill and Lois Jones, Beecher City; Elmer Feezel and Junior Williams, Brownstown; Diamond Powell, Carmi; Frank and Carolyn Heigert, Carlinville; Melvin Johnson, Effingham; Carolyn Johnson, Greenville; and Cy and Lorene Locke, and Dean and Elloise Black, Vandalia.
