Sue Ann Kistler and Jacob Louis Holliday have announced their engagement and upcoming marriage.

The future bride, of Vandalia and formerly of Brownstown, is the daughter of Kent and Melody Kistler of Brownstown, and Glenda and Wayne Arnold of Beecher City.
She is the granddaughter of Lorraine Kistler and the late Rex Kistler of Vandalia; and Joe and Wilma Kruger, and the late Frank Rook of Brownstown.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in mortuary science and funeral service from Southern Illinois University, and is employed as a funeral director at Hohlt and File Funeral Home in Vandalia.
The future groom, of Vandalia, is the son of Ruth Holliday and the late George “Pidge” Holliday of Vandalia.
He is the grandson of Donna VanUytven and the late John VanUytven of Ramsey, and the late Walter “Hap” and Kay Holliday of Ramsey.
He earned an associate’s degree in general studies from Kaskaskia College and is the manager at Miller’s Market in Ramsey.
The couple are planning an outdoor ceremony at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, at Northside Christian Church in Vandalia.
A reception with dinner and dancing will be held at the American Legion Home in Vandalia following the ceremony.
