The future bride is the daughter of Dan and Debbie Carruthers of Ramsey.
She is a 2006 graduate of Ramsey High School.
The future groom is the son of Marcia Barringer of Brownstown and Dudley Gathe of Effingham.
He is a 2003 graduate of Brownstown High School.
The couple are planning an Aug. 25 wedding at Oak Terrace in rural Pana. A reception will follow at the American Legion Home in Vandalia, with food served at 5:30 p.m.
