Holly Childers of Vandalia and Aaron Newcom of Wood River have announced their engagement and upcoming wedding.

The future bride is the daughter of Dr. Kevin and Pam Childers of Vandalia. She is the granddaughter of Arvil and Patsy Melliges of Vandalia; and Jess and Mary Sue Childers, and Marilyn Childers, all of Marion.
She is a 2012 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Law. In August, she will begin working at Deloitte Tax in Chicago.
The future groom is the son of Richard and Lana Newcom of Wood River. He is the grandson of Charles Aldridge and the late Rosalie Aldridge, and the late Stross and Mina Newcom, all of Marion, Ky.
He is a 2008 graduate of Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. He is currently employed at the Renaissance Grand Hotel in St. Louis.
The couple are planning a May 19 wedding at First Baptist Church in Vandalia.
Following their wedding and honeymoon, they will reside in Chicago.
