Engagement

Deidre King and Matthew Langston, both of Vandalia, have announced their engagement and upcoming marriage.

The future bride is the daughter of JoAnn King and Robert King of Hillsboro.
She received a bachelor’s degree in integrative biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2006 and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Lakeview College of Nursing in 2009, and was certified as a family nurse practitioner by Frontier Nursing University.
She is currently employed as a registered nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
The future groom is the son of Matt and Tonya Langston of Verna.
He is a 2000 graduate of Vandalia Community High School and 2002 graduate of Kaskaskia College, and attended Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville.
He is currently employed at Maxxus Well Control in St. Elmo.
The couple are planning a 4 p.m. wedding on Oct. 6 at Oak Terrace Resort in Pana.
