Dr. Jonathan Sones joins Jay Lowry’s practice

Dr. Jonathan Sones, an Edwardsville native who graduated from Millikin University and Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine, has joined the Vandalia dental practice of Dr. Jay Lowry.
Sones is no stranger to Fayette County, however. He’s been coming to the Brownstown area to hunt since he was in college.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoys “hunting, fishing and anything outdoors.” He also has a speedboat that he’s rebuilt from the ground up.
While in college at Millikin, he played two years of baseball (catcher) and one year of football (wide receiver). He's also been involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, as well as his church, Metro Community Church in Edwardsville.
Jones and his wife, Whitney, are living in Alton. She is a dental hygienist, currently working in Granite City. They are looking for housing in the Vandalia area.
In his work at Vandalia Dental Associates, which is located at 2219 W. Randolph, he will be doing general dentistry.
“I enjoy working with kids,” he said, “but I’ll also work with implants and dentures.” One day per week, he’ll also be providing dental services to inmates at the Vandalia Correctional Center.
Office hours are Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. through 5 p.m. The phone number is 283-1760.
