Dorothy M. Dolly, 84, Vandalia

Dorothy M. Dolly, 84, of Vandalia, died on Friday, June 17, 2011, at Fayette County Hospital Long Term Care in Vandalia.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at Hohlt and File Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Joe Lawson officiating. Burial was in McInturff Cemetery in Hagarstown. Visitation was held one hour before services on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials: McInturff Cemetery or Long Term Care activity fund.

Mrs. Dolly was born on Dept. 22, 1926, in Hagarstown, the daughter of Leslie and Ruby Warner Phelps. She married Kenneth E. Dolly on April 10, 1943; he died on May 26, 1990.

She was a homemaker and a nurse’s aide at Fayette County Hospital for 11 years. She was affiliated with the Baptist faith.

She is survived by sons, James Dolly and his wife Sharon of Shobonier, Ron Dolly and his wife April of Vandalia, and Don Dolly and his wife Elizabeth of Vandalia; daughter, Sheila Branum of Salem; brother, Jack Phelps and his wife Darlene; sister, Lucille Henengar; grandchildren, Alison and her husband William Sears, Melissa and her husband Kevin Gramlick, Derek Branum and his wife Jennifer, Travis Branum, Colby Dolly and his wife Dominique, Adrienne Dolly and Cody Dolly; and great-grandchildren, Elijah Sears, Ryan Gramlick, Alexander Gramlick, Cayla Dolly and Peyton Dolly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Gary Dolly; and a brother, Herb Phelps.
