Doll-Timmermann

Kate Doll and Ben Timmermann, both of Vandalia, were united in marriage at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, at Mother of Dolors Catholic Church in Vandalia, with the Rev. Joseph Havrilka officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Homer and Judy Doll of Pocahontas. She was given away by her father.
Her wedding dress had a strapless, draped satin bodice with a slightly dropped waist, featuring beaded embroidered detail, and a ball gown skirt with an all-over beaded lace chapel train.
Her bouquet was made up of tiger lilies.
She chose her sister, Denise Jurgena of Greenville, as her matron of honor. Bridesmaids were: Apryl Marti of Pocahontas and Terri Eavs of Alhambra, friends of the bride; Jenny Triphahn of Springfield, sister of the groom; and Jennifer Knebel, friend of the couple.
The bridesmaids wore knee-lenth, strapless satin dresses with ruched waistlines in the color of sangria.
Flower girls were Ella Jurgena, niece of the bride; and Sarah Triphahn, niece of the groom.
The groom chose his brother, Mark Timmermann of Highland, as his best man. Groomsmen were: Bill Hoyle of Vandalia, Nathan Ballard of Highland and Chris Chappel of Collinsville, friends of the groom; and Doug Knebel, friend of the couple.
Ushers were Scott Gebke of Breese, cousin of the groom, and Greg Triphahn of Springfield, brother-in-law of the groom.
Beth Lawler was the organist, and Lee Hicks was the vocalist. Rachel Schaal and Tabathe DeBlois were readers.
A reception at the Vandalia Moose Lodge followed the wedding.
The couple went to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic for a honeymoon.
The bride earned a master’s degree in education from Greenville College. She is currently employed as a fifth-grade teacher at Vandalia Junior High School.
The groom earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. A CPA, he is currently employed at Timmermann and Co. Ltd. in Vandalia.
The couple resides in Vandalia.
