As the Fayette County Board presented the county’s budget for the upcoming year at a hearing on Tuesday, discussion was focused mainly on one department, the sheriff’s office.
Then, during its regular monthly meeting, the board OK’d that new budget, over the objection of Sheriff Aaron Lay.
At the budget hearing, board Chairman Steve Knebel said the bottom line figure for the county’s new budget is $9,908,336.
