Though it wasn’t unanimous, the Fayette County Board voted on Tuesday to transfer another $250,000 from its capital improvement fund in order to meet payroll.
And while the board approved that transfer, in an 11-3 vote, board Chairman Steve Knebel and several other board members said the board will have to look at making cuts instead of transfers.
Tuesday’s transfer means that the county has transferred about $2 million from the capital improvement fund that was established with the $5.5 million the county was paid for its coal rights on about 160,000 acres.
