After meeting in closed session for more than 90 minutes, the Fayette County Board approved a new salary schedule for the four county offices up for election this fall.
That schedule includes four pay steps for the treasurer, county clerk, supervisor of assessments and sheriff, with the first step being a 7-percent reduction from the current salaries.
Also at the meeting, the board approved another $250,000 transfer from the county’s capital improvement fund to cover payroll later this month, and it approved a bid of $662,000 for a project addressing most of the problems with the current roofs over the courthouse and jail.
