Two weeks after approving funding for the Vandalia Main Street Program, the Vandalia City Council agreed to hold off on writing that check.
After a 20-minute discussion, the council excluded a $3,750 payment to Main Street from the list of special bills.
That discussion was initiated by Alderman Mike Hobler, who was not present at the Sept. 6 meeting when the council voted 7-0 to approve a request from Main Street for half of the $7,500 funding included in the current city budget.
