The Illinois Field Office of NASS this week released the USDA’s September Crop Production Report. Highlights of the report include:
ILLINOIS
The 2011 Illinois corn crop is expected to yield 161 bushels per acre, down 9 bushels from the August forecast. The yield is down as a result of the exceptionally hot weather experienced while much of the crop was in the pollination stage. Production of corn for grain would be 1.98 billion bushels, up 2 percent from 2010.
