Thursday, November 18

? TOPS IL 2490 will meet from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Ramsey. Weigh-in is from 9-9:30 a.m. For more information, contact Dovie Heaton-Bergin at 283-1729.
? Soroptimist International of Vandalia will meet at noon at Days Inn.
? The Fayette County Health Department will hold a family flu shot clinic from 2:45-3:45 p.m. at the FCHD office, 509 W. Edwards St., Vandalia. Appointments are required; call 283-1044.
? TOPS IL 1872, Ramsey, will meet at the Christian Church in Ramsey. Weigh-in is at 6:20  p.m., and the meeting is at 7 p.m. For more information, contact Donna Morell at 423-2916.

Friday, November 19

? Vandalia Main Street will hold its "Olde Tyme Christmas" in downtown Vandalia. It will include strolling carolers beginning at 5:30 p.m., the community Christmas tree lighting at 6 p.m., and a Christmas storytime at Evans Public Library at 6:30 p.m. The evening will also include chestnuts roasting on an open fire, free horse-drawn sleigh rides, pictures with Santa and the Soroptimist cookie walk.
? The Downtown Vandalia Merchants Co-op will hold "A Winter Wonderland" from 5-9 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, with a sleigh and live reindeer available for photos and specials offered in participating stores in the downtown business district.
? A country music dance will be held at 7 p.m. at the Patoka Service Center, 210 W. Bond St., Patoka. "Charlie's Jam" will perform. Admission is by donation.
Saturday, November 20

? The Fayette County Hospital Auxiliary will hold its annual craft bazaar from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. at the hospital. Admission is $1, with children ages 12 and under admitted free.
? "Christmas in St. Elmo" will be held from 9 a.m.-9 p.m., with the schedule including the lighting of the community Christmas tree at 6 p.m. and caroling that evening.

Sunday, November 21

The Brownstown area churches and ministerial alliance will host a community Thanksgiving service this Sunday at 6 p.m. at the Brownstown United Methodist Church, which is located at the corner of First and Maple streets in Brownstown.
? A dance will be held at the Corn Crib in Shobonier from 3-6 p.m."Larry Eyman and the Country Club Band" will perform. Admission is $5.

Monday, November 22

? The Vandalia Lions Club will meet at Days Inn. The executive board meets at 5:15 p.m., and the regular club meeting is at 6 p.m.
Tuesday, November 23

? The Vandalia Rotary Club will meet at noon in the Lincoln Room at Ponderosa Steakhouse.
? Rainbow Reflections, the local grief support group, will meet from 6-7 p.m. in Wesley Hall at First United Methodist Church, 127 N. Fourth St., Vandalia.
? OUR PLACE Youth Center, located at 507 W. Gallatin St. in Vandalia, will hold a "Food for Thought" program for children ages 8-17. Leigh Hedgpeth, a member of Soroptimist International of Vandalia, will supervise.
Thursday, November 25

THANKSGIVING
? The Vandalia Ministerial Alliance will hold its fourth annual Community Thanksgiving Meal from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the American Legion Home, 321 S. Seventh St., Vandalia. There is no charge, and reservations are not required. Anyone needing transportation may call First Baptist Church, 283-0313, by noon next Tuesday.
