College tourney coming to Vandalia

A college club baseball tournament named in memory of two local individuals will take place at Vandalia Mutual Field at Vandalia Community High School on Sunday, Oct. 28.

The Metzger-Thiele Classic, named in honor of Fred Metzger and Brenda Thiele, will be a three- or four-team tournament, featuring college club teams from the region.

Vandalia graduate Kyle Hawkins will be pitching for for Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville during the tournament, which will begin at 9 a.m.
