SIU Edwardsville
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville completed 2018 Spring commencement exercises for 2,091 eligible graduates Friday and Saturday, May 4-5, in the Vadalabene Center on campus.
SIUE Chancellor Randy Pembrook bestowed degrees upon students from the Graduate School and the Schools of Business and Nursing on Friday, May 4.
Ceremonies were held on Saturday, May 5 for graduates from the College of Arts and Sciences and the Schools of Engineering, Pharmacy, and Education, Health and Human Behavior.
Area graduates include:
• Brownstown – Eric Gurtner, bachelor’s degree in business administration.
• Farina – Klaiton Strullmyer, bachelor’s degree in business administration; and Monica Young, bachelor’s degree in nursing, summa cum laude.
• Ramsey – Jenna Hunt, bachelor’s degree in nursing (RN), summa cum laude, and Sara Moss, bachelor’s degree in social work.
• St. Elmo – Haley Fasnacht, bachelor’s degree in nursing (RN), summa cum laude, and Blake Pruett, master’s degree in business administration and doctorate of pharmacy.
• St. Peter – Alexis Schafer, bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• Vandalia – Lauren Dugan, bachelor’s degree in speech language path and audiology; Ashli Fenton, bachelor’s degree in nursing; and Kristyn Nichols, bachelor’s degree in social work, summa cum laude.

Lake Land College
At the 2018 Lake Land College associate’s degree in nursing pinning ceremony, graduating nurses received their pins.
Area students who were pinned were: Randy Carpenter of Brownstown; Tiffany Gilbert and Madason Ledbetter of St. Elmo; and Julia Roberts of Farina.
