Bryan J. Culbertson graduated from Mississippi State University in Starkville on May 12 with a doctorate of philosophy in chemistry.
His dissertation was entitled “Cavity Ring-Down Spectroscopy of Liquid Samples Using Standard Cuvettes at Normal Incidence,” and involved using lasers to measure light as it traveled through liquid samples.
His doctorate concentration was in analytical chemistry.
Culbertson has accepted a position with the Florida, Department of Agriculture at Port Everglades in Ft. Lauderdale.
He and his wife Jodi (Pound) Culbertson moved from Starkville to Fort Lauderdale to begin work on July 20.
Culberton is the son of Bob and Susan Culbertson, and grandson of Velda Merriman and Helen Culbertson, all of Vandalia.
He is a graduate of Vandalia Community High School and Eastern Illinois University.
