Maryville University
Kristyn VonBehren, the daughter of Larry and Kathy VonBehren of St. Peter, graduated from Maryville University in St. Louis with a doctorate degree in physical therapy.

The hooding ceremony of the first doctorate of physical therapy class at Maryville University was held on Dec. 10.
During her collegiate career, VonBehren was a member of Student Ambassadors, Physical Therapy Club and American Physical Therapy Association. In February, she presented her research project at the combined sections meeting of the APTA in Chicago.
VonBehren, a 2005 graduate of Vandalia Community High School, will be working as a physical therapist in an outpatient orthopedic setting at Biomax Rehabilitation in Effingham.

Illinois College
Four area residents were named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at Illinois College.
Those making the dean’s list were:
• Whitney Hagy, senior, daughter of Elizabeth Deutsch and Mark Hagy, both of Vandalia.
• Mitchell Whightsil, senior, son of Richard and Renee Whightsil of Vandalia.
• Meagan Wright, senior, daughter of Ronnie and Jill Wright of Vandalia.
• Marty Johnson, sophomore, son of Mark and Lori Johnson of Shobonier.
