Iowa State University
Rachel Bell of Vandalia graduated from Iowa State University on May 9 in the double major, dual degree Diet and Exercise program.

She received both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in the fields of nutrition and kinesiology (exercise science) and graduated Summa Cum Laude (with highest distinction).
Earlier in the spring, she was awarded the Cyclone High Scholar Athlete Award for having the highest GPA on the women’s cross country and track teams.
In order to earn her registered dietician’s license, Bell will begin a year-long nutrition practicum at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, Wis., starting in August.
She is a 2006 graduate of Vandalia Community High School.

Lincoln Christian College
Jennifer Lovett of Brownstown, who earned a bachelor's degree, was among the students receiving a degree at the 66th annual commencement exercises at Lincoln Christian College in Lincoln.

MacMurray College

Courtney Taylor of Vandalia was among the 99 students at MacMurray College who were awarded degrees at a ceremony on Saturday, May 7.
Taylor was awarded a bachelor's degree in Spanish, with a minor in American sign language. She graduated from Vandalia Community High School in 2007.
