Vandalia Mayor Rick Gottman recently signed a proclamation declaring this Saturday as Children's Miracle Network Roadblock Day. On that day, volunteers will be collecting donations from motorists at various intersections around Vandalia to help support the work of Children's Miracle Network. The organization, represented here by Cheryl Pollard of Vandalia, helps children who are accident victims or who have other health problems, such as cancer, heart disease, muscular disease, birth defects, cerebral palsy and AIDS. Last year, Children's Miracle Network hospitals helped 7 million children and provided care worth $2.5 billion.
