City continues talks for third water source

The city of Vandalia is moving closer to obtaining a third water source.
At a meeting on Monday evening, Mayor Rick Gottman and member of the city council’s water and sewer committee talked with Walt Barenfanger of Kaskaskia Springs Water Co. about a proposed agreement drafted by City Attorney Jack Johnston.
Johnston drafted the agreement after two presentations by Barenfanger and his partner, Jeff Beckman.
