Fall festival Oct. 24 at Liberty Christian

Liberty Christian Church in rural Brownstown will hold its annual fall festival on Sunday, Oct. 24, at 5 p.m. in the church pavilion.

The event, planned by the youth team, will offer something for the entire family – a bonfire, hayrides, music and a devotion time.

Participants are asked to bring lawn chairs, hot dogs and buns for their family, soda and the ingredients for making s’mores.

Hot chocolate, coffee and hot cider will be provided.

 

Assembly of God offers financial course

First Assembly of God Church of Vandalia will be offering Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University, beginning Sunday at 6 p.m.

Ramsey is a financial expert and author of several books about money management. The 13-week series will meet Sundays from 6-8 p.m. at the church, which is located at 1328 N. Seventh St.

'Party on Parking Lot' at First Christian

First Christian Church of Vandalia will host a "Party on the Parking Lot" on Sunday, Oct. 24, from 3-5 p.m.

Hot dogs, nachos and s'mores will be available to eat. Games, prizes and family fun also will be included.

The church is located at 305 N. Fifth St.

 

Youth Sunday this week at Northside

Youth Sunday will be observed this Sunday at Northside Christian Church in Vandalia.

During both the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. services, students and faculty from St. Louis Christian College will lead the worship activities. Mike Pabarcus, a professor at the college, will preach, and the Ambassador Ensemble will lead the worship music.

Pabarcus and the students also will give a presentation about the college during the Sunday School hour, which begins at 10:10 a.m.
