VBS to be July 22-24 at First Presbyterian

First Presbyterian Church will be holding Vacation Bible School from 6-8 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, July 22-24, at the church, which is located at 1221 W. Fillmore St. in Vandalia. The theme is HayDay VBS. A VBS program will be held during morning worship service on Sunday, July 28. Pre-registration is required.

Rummage sale, auction at St. James

St. James Lutheran Church, located at 727 W. Gallatin St., Vandalia, will be holding a rummage sale and sealed bid auction in the church gymnasium on Friday, July 19, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, July 20, from 8 a.m. to noon.
Hundreds of household items will be for sale, and three items will be available to bid on. Those three are: a 24-bottle case of Coca Cola commemorating the 1982 Cardinals' World Series championship; four place settings of Arcoroc French Impression glassware; and a vintage quilt made in 1943 and presented to the purchaser of $15,000 worth of Series E War Bonds, with historical documentation.

Temple Baptist car wash set for July 13

The youth group at Temple Baptist Church will be holding a car wash from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 13.
The event will be held at the Head Start building (formerly King's Treasure), just west of Sunset Drive on Progress West Drive.
Funds will be used to pay for the church's youth to go to Rehoboth Church Camp.

Revival planned at Liberty Christian

A revival is planned for July 21-24, at 7 p.m. nightly, at Liberty Christian Church in rural Brownstown.
Speaker for the revival will be David Upchurch, director of church ministries at Lincoln Christian University in Lincoln. Music will be led by Water To Wine, a band from St. Elmo.
A program for children will be held each night, also at 7 p.m.
Pie night will be held on Wednesday after the revival service.
