Mother of Dolors meal is this Sunday

The annual St. Patrick's Day corned beef and cabbage dinner will be held this Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Mother of Dolors Catholic Church Parish Center, 705 W. St. Clair St.
The menu will include corned beef and cabbage, ham, hot dogs, side dishes, desserts and drinks. The cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 6 and up and free for children ages 5 and under. Carryouts are available by calling 283-8738.
Also being held at the parish center will be a country store and a raffle. Proceeds from those events will go to fund Right to Life activities.

Next Lenten Luncheon at First Methodist

The fifth Lenten Luncheon will be held next Wednesday at noon  at First United Methodist Church.
Speaker for the event will be the Rev. Carl Burval, chaplain of the Association of Christian Truckers. The topic will be, "Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit."

Area praise bands to jam this Sunday

Area praise bands and guests are invited to participate in a praise music jam session this Sunday from 1-5 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Vandalia.

Sausage, pancake supper is Thursday

The United Methodist Men of the First United Methodist Church of Vandalia will hold their annual sausage and pancake supper this Thursday evening at the church.
The meal runs from 4-7 p.m.
