Mother of Dolors meal is March 17

The annual St. Patrick's Day corned beef and cabbage dinner will be held on Sunday, March 17, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Mother of Dolors Catholic Church Parish Center, 705 W. St. Clair St. in Vandalia.
The menu will include corned beef and cabbage, ham, hot dogs, side dishes, desserts and drinks.
The cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 6 and up and free for children ages 5 and under. Carryouts are available by calling 283-8738.
Also being held at the parish center on March 17 will be a country store and a raffle. All proceeds from those events will go to Right to Life activities.

Revival March 10-13 at MG First Baptist

A revival, featuring evangelist Scott Pack of Ft. Worth, Texas, is planned for Sunday through Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Mulberry Grove.
The theme for the event is "Take A Stand."
Services will be held at 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday, and then 6:30 p.m. nightly through Wednesday.
Music leader will be Tony Munoz of Effingham.
The church is located at 111 N. Second St. in Mulberry Grove.

Next Lenten Luncheon at First Baptist

The fourth Lenten Luncheon will be held next Wednesday at noon  at First Baptist Church.
Speaker for the event will be Cristi Smith, wife of the youth pastor at First Church of God. The topic will be, "I thirst."

St. Paul Lutheran to host meal Sunday  

St. Paul Lutheran Church will host a barbecue meal this Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The menu consists of barbecued pork, baked potato, green beans, cole slaw, applesauce, dessert and a beverage.
The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children under 6 years.
The church is located seven miles east and one mile south of Shobonier.
