Archery clinic is Saturday at Bethel
An archery clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday at Bethel Baptist Church.
The clinic, sponsored by the Nimrod Squad, includes archery games, prizes and lunch. The cost is $5 per person, and all ages are invited.
The church is located seven miles northwest of Vandalia on Ill. Route 185.

Life Chain rally planned for Oct. 7
A Life Chain rally will be held on Sunday, Oct. 7, from 2-3:30 p.m. at the corner of Kennedy Boulevard and Gallatin Street in Vandalia.
Organizers say that the rally will be a "peaceful and prayerful public witness of pro-life individuals standing for prayer for our nation and for an end to abortion."
Only official Life Chain signs will be used during the event, and will be made available to participants.

Road run event to be held on Oct. 6
The youth group at St. Elmo Christian Church will hold a three-in-one road run event on Saturday, Oct. 6. The fundraiser is open to motorcycles, Jeeps and antique vehicles.
Registration is at 11 a.m., the ride begins at noon and it concludes at about 4:30 p.m. The ride is about 115 miles long and includes four stops.
Cost to participate is $15 for each driver and $10 for each passenger age 16 and older. It includes the ride, a marble draw, supper (sloppy Joe's, chips, drink and dessert) and live music.
Those not wanting to ride may participate in the meal ($5 per person) and music activities. The meal will be held at Deken Park in St. Elmo at 5 p.m., with the music to follow.

Fusion 3D youth event is Oct. 26-27
Family Worship Center in Vandalia will hold a youth conference called Fusion 3D on Friday, Oct. 26, and Saturday, Oct. 27, at the church.
The event – which includes music, dramas, food and prizes – will be held at 7 p.m. Friday night and from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Homecoming Gospel Choir event Sunday
The Homecoming Gospel Choir, which features singers and musicians from all across Southern Illinois, will present a concert this Sunday at 6 p.m. at First Christian Church in Greenville.
The evening of gospel music, patterned after the Gaither Homecoming videos, features the 80-voice Homecoming Gospel Choir and several special vocalists and musicians.
Hosted by John and Judy Roberts, the concert is free, but an offering will be taken.

The FourGiven Quartet will perform at Happy Hollow Farms' Pumpkin Patch in St. Elmo on Saturday, Oct. 13, at 2 p.m.
Biker Sunday set in West Frankfort
Southpoint Church in West Frankfort will hold its 14th annual Biker Sunday this Sunday.
The event includes a worship service at 10:30 a.m. and a free barbecue dinner following the service.
