Homecoming Choir to perform Sunday
The Homecoming Gospel Choir will present a concert this Sunday at 6 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church in rural Vandalia.
The choir, which features singers and musicians from Southern Illinois, presents a program of Southern gospel music in the style of the Gaithers. Steve Ladd and Cheryl Harre will headline the concert.

Nimrod Ministry to hold car wash here
The Nimrod Outdoor Ministry will hold a car wash this Saturday at County Market in Vandalia from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Porkburgers and snow cones will be available.

CenterPointe plans party on Saturday
CenterPointe Church will be hosting a free neighborhood block party this Saturday at Lincoln School playground.
The activities, which run from 9-11 a.m., will include relay games, carnival games, an inflatable bounce house, drinks, snow cones, cotton candy, face painting, balloon art, and free clothing and school supplies. At 10 a.m., the Broken Chains Band will perform.

Chosen Ones in concert on Friday
Southern Gospel recording artists, The Chosen Ones, will be in concert in Mulberry Grove this Friday at 7 p.m. The program will be hosted by First Baptist Church at 111 N. Second St.

Steve Ladd concert Saturday at FBC
Steve Ladd from Nashville, Tenn., will be in concert on Saturday, Aug. 10, at 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Vandalia.
The concert will be hosted by the FourGiven Quartet, which will be singing some new songs, with Jeff Hempken at the piano.
The concert is free, but an offering will be taken.
