Bankester Family to play at Liberty  

The Bankester Family will perform at Liberty Christian Church in rural Brownstown on April 15 at the 10 a.m. worship service and at a 6 p.m. concert.
The group plays bluegrass-style  music, performed with instruments such as the banjo, fiddle, violin and mandolin.

Lenten Luncheons conclude next week  

The Vandalia Ministerial Alliance's Lenten Luncheon series will conclude with next Wednesday's event.
The luncheons are held each Wednesday during Lent, beginning at noon and concluding by 1 p.m.
They are held at a different church each week.
Next Wednesday's final luncheon will be held at First Baptist  Church (283-0313). The speaker will be Bud Morrison, a layman at First Christian Church.
Participants are asked to make advanced reservations at the host church.

Sunrise service at St. James Lutheran

An Easter sunrise service will be held at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 8, at St. James Lutheran Church in Vandalia. A breakfast will follow in the multi-purpose room.
The church is located at 727 W. Gallatin St. For more information, call the church at 283-0725.

'An Easter Drama' at Crown Point

Crown Point Church will present “An Easter Drama” this Friday  at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 7 p.m.
The drama depicts the life of Christ, from his birth to his death, burial and resurrection. Changes have been made this year, and a new scene has been added.

Women's group to meet on Tuesday

A woman's group called "Sisters In Christ" will hold its monthly meeting next Tuesday at the Crown Point Church office, which is located at 1402 N. Fifth St.
The group meets from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month for Bible study. It is open to all women.
The text for the study is the "Not a Fan" series.

The Revelators to perform at Patoka

The Revelators singing group will perform at Patoka First Baptist Church this Sunday at 6 p.m.
The church is located at 209 N. Oak St. in Patoka.

Collingsworths to perform at Salem

First Christian Church of Salem will host a concert by the Collingsworth Family this Friday at 7 p.m.
The Collingsworth Family, from Cincinnati, Ohio, is comprised of Phil and Kim Collingsworth, along with their four children. They create Southern Gospel music, using their vocal and instrumental talents.
