Dulcimer concert Sunday at Temple

The Salem Dulcimer Club will play Christmas music at Temple Baptist Church this Sunday at 6 p.m.

FUMC to hold Christmas Eve service

First United Methodist Church in Vandalia will be hosting a Christmas Eve worship service on Dec. 24.
The evening begins with a mini-concert at 6:45 p.m., followed by a candlelight worship service, featuring scripture readings, Christmas carols and brass accompaniment at 7 p.m.
The Rev. Roger Grimmett will deliver a sermon titled “O Holy Night.”
The church is located at 127 N. Fourth St. in Vandalia. For more information, call 283-3684.

Free Christmas dinner to be served

A free dinner will be served to people in need of fellowship on Christmas day.
Doors will be open at Northside Christian Church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the meal will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Flyers promoting the event say: “This dinner is for anyone who would otherwise be alone on this joyous day. Come and enjoy the food and fellowship as we celebrate the birth of Christ.”
The church is located at 1845 W. Jackson St. (just east of Sunset Drive) in Vandalia. To help ensure that adequate food is prepared, participants are asked to call the church (283-1970) to let organizers know that they are coming.
