Pancake and sausage supper Thursday

The United Methodist Men group of the First United Methodist Church of Vandalia will hold its annual pancake and sausage supper this Thursday from 4-7 p.m. in Wesley Hall.
Money raised will help support United Methodist Men projects.

St. Paul’s men plan barbecue March 13

The men of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church will host a barbecue Sunday lunch on March 13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Included on the menu is homemade pork barbecue, baked potatoes, green beans, cole slaw, apple sauce, desserts and beverages. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children under age 6.
The church is located 7 miles east and 1 mile south of Shobonier, or 5 miles west and 1 mile south of St. Peter. For more information, call the church at 349-6291.

Open mic night at Brownstown Christian

The fourth annual open mic night will be held at Brownstown First Christian Church this Saturday from 5-8 p.m. A free spaghetti supper will be served at 5 p.m.
The event is open to the public, and all musicians, singers, bands and groups are invited to perform.
Door prizes will be awarded, and two grand prizes – a mandolin and an acoustic guitar – will be given away.

Augsburg to hold Communion Saturday

The transfiguration of Jesus will be celebrated this Saturday in a 6 p.m. Communion service at Immanuel Lutheran Augsburg Church (LCMS).
The church is located on the St. Peter Blacktop, four miles east of U.S. Route 51 at the intersection of 900N and 1300E.

Spring revival set at MG First Baptist

First Baptist Church of Mulberry Grove will sponsor a spring revival, beginning on Sunday, March 13, and continuing through Wednesday, March 16. The theme is "Stepping Up!"
Leading the revival will be evangelist Andy Johnson of Ft. Worth, Texas, and musician Terry Coker of Fenton, Mo.
Service times will be 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday, and 6:30 p.m. on Monday through Wednesday.

Smithboro Baptist to celebrate 70th

Seventy years of ministry will be celebrated this Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Smithboro Baptist Church, which is located at the intersection of Fourth and Jefferson streets in Smithboro.
Included in the anniversary celebration will be special music, testimonials and a dedication service, featuring the Jack Arndt family.
The church was founded on March 9, 1941.   

Bankester Family concert March 20

Liberty Christian Church will host a concert by the Bankester Family at 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 20. Admission is free.
The church is located five miles north of Brownstown.

Soup luncheon Sunday at Augsburg

The Immanuel Augsburg Ladies will host a soup luncheon this Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church hall.
The menu will include chicken soup, chili, peanut butter sandwiches, chicken salad sandwiches, hot dogs and desserts.
A free-will offering will be accepted.
Immanuel Augsburg Lutheran Church is located on the St. Peter Blacktop 4 miles east of Shobonier.

Litchfield Deanery meeting March 30

Catholic women of the Litchfield Deanery are invited to a deanery meeting March 30 at St. Michael the Archangel Church in Staunton.
Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by Mass by the Rev. George Radosevich at 10 a.m., a business meeting and a luncheon
The Litchfield Deanery includes Catholic parishes in Christian, Fayette, Macoupin and Montgomery counties.

Fourgiven Singers at Temple Baptist

Temple Baptist Church of Vandalia will host the Fourgiven Singers in a concert at the church on Saturday, March 19. The concert begins at 7 p.m.
