First Missionary Baptist to hold revival
A summer revival will be held this Sunday through Wednesday at First Missionary Baptist Church in Royal Lake No. 2.
The theme for the revival will be "Restoration," with that idea coming from the writings of the Old Testament prophets. Services will begin at 6:30 p.m. each day.
Speakers for the revival are: Sunday – the Rev. Theodore Macon from Second Baptist Church in Carlyle; Monday – evangelist Gloria McDonald from First Missionary Baptist Church of Mulberry Grove; Tuesday – revival music; and Wednesday – the Rev. Carrie Hill.
The church is located at 1840 Arkansas Ave., Mulberry Grove, Royal Lake No. 2.

VBS next week at Crown Point Church
Crown Point Church will host Vacation Bible School next Monday through Friday from 6-8:15 p.m. The theme is "Big Jungle Adventure – A Faith Journey With Jesus."
All children ages 3-12 are invited to participate in the program, which includes Bible lessons, music, crafts, a Bible challenge, recreation and refreshments.
Family members are invited to a family night program on Saturday at 6 p.m. It will include a picnic-style meal and games for the children.
The church is located seven miles south of Vandalia on Carlyle Road. For more information, call the Rev. Pete LeDuc at 339-1646.

VBS 'Beach Bash' to be held at Kaskaskia
A Vacation Bible School Beach Bash will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Kaskaskia Church in northeast Fayette County. Hours are 6-8 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. A 7 p.m. ice cream social, with parents, will be held on Sunday.
The VBS is open to children from 4 years through sixth grade.
Included will be Bible stories, crafts, games and songs.

One-day Bible camp planned at Temple
Temple Baptist Church will hold a one-day Bible camp for children from kindergarten through sixth grade this Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 4:45 p.m.
Included in the day's activities will be Bible study, crafts, singing, lunch, recreation and snacks.
Children must arrive by 9:30 and be picked up by 5 p.m.

Fourgiven Quartet concert Saturday
The Fourgiven Quartet will present a concert this Saturday, June 25, at 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Vandalia.
A free-will offering will be taken.
 Chicken fundraiser at St. Louis Church
A fundraising fried chicken meal will be held this Sunday at the Parish Center of St. Louis Church in Nokomis.
The meal, which consists of fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, chicken and noodles, vegetables, cole slaw, rolls, homemade desserts and drinks, will be served from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The price for the meal will be $8 for adults and $4 for children from 6-12 years. Children 5 and under are free.
Carryouts are available for $8.

Mother of Dolors schedule change
Mother of Dolors now has a different schedule for its services on Saturday.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be offered from 3-3:45 p.m. and the Saturday Liturgy will be celebrated at 4 p.m. The time for the Liturgy is an hour earlier than it was previously.

Revival Run set for Saturday, July 16
Liberty Christian Church will be holding its annual Revival Run on Saturday, July 16, beginning at 7 a.m.
The event includes a four-mile competitive run or a two-mile fun walk.
Participants can register the day of the race, beginning at 6:30 a.m., or pre-register by calling Erin Schaub at 267-9512. Her e-mail address is erinbeth75@hotmail.com. The registration fee is $20.
Pre-registered participants will receive a T-shirt.
All proceeds will benefit Liberty Christian Church youth groups.

Augsburg plans benefit for Chris Bauer
Immanuel Lutheran Augsburg Church will host an all-afternoon  benefit for Chris Bauer on Sunday, July 10, at the fellowship hall.
The benefit includes live music, a live auction, a raffle and several activities for children. The activities start at 11:30 a.m.
Also, a free-will offering will be accepted, and all money given will be matched by Thrivent Financial.
Bauer was seriously injured in a truck accident in Wyoming. He and his wife Karen have two children: Patrick, 17, and Ashley, 13.
