Blood drive Tuesday at Liberty Christian

A blood drive will be held next Tuesday at Liberty Christian Church from 2:30-6:30 p.m.
Donors are entered in a drawing to win a $250 weekly gas card, and will be entered in a car giveaway sweepstakes.
Appointments can be made by calling 1-800-RED CROSS or by visiting www.redcrossblood.org. Use the Liberty Christian code to schedule an appointment.
All donors must present a photo identification.

Garage sale this Saturday at Liberty

Liberty Christian Church will hold an all-church garage sale this Saturday at the church in rural Brownstown. The sale runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Included will be clothing, knick-knacks, kitchen items, furniture and more. There will be a $1 bag promotion at noon, when buyers can get whatever they can fit into a bag for $1.
The church is located 5 1/2 miles north of Brownstown on College Street. For more information, call 347-2271.

Women's Christian fitness club  planned

A new Christian fitness club has begun at OUR PLACE in downtown Vandalia.
Called "The Spirit, Soul & Body Fit Ladies Club," the group will meet every Saturday at 507 W. Gallatin St. from 10-11 a.m.
It will include dance and exercise to gospel music. There will be a time of prayer after the class.
Participants are asked to bring water to drink.
There are no fees for the class.

Cross4Crowns concert this Saturday

A concert by Southern gospel group Cross4Crowns will be held at Bethalto Church of God at 7 p.m. this Saturday.

The Master's Own Quartet at The Barn

The Master's Own Quartet from Fairmount, Ind., will be in concert at The Barn near Pana this Saturday at 7 p.m.
Also appearing for the first time at The Barn will be the New Creation Trio from Assumption.

Monastery museum tours given Sunday

The Teutopolis Monastery Museum will be open for viewing this Sunday from 12:30-4 p.m.
Located on the second floor of the former Franciscan Novitiate building, behind St. Francis Church, the museum contains many items used by Franciscan friars. It also contains Bibles and books in many languages.

Homecoming Gospel Choir here Aug. 14

Bethel Baptist Church in rural Vandalia will host the Homecoming Gospel Choir on Sunday, Aug. 14, at 6 p.m.
The 80-voice group from Southern Illinois will sing gospel songs and hymns in the Gaither style. The program is titled "A Homecoming Gospel Reunion."
Admission is free, but an offering will be taken.
The church is located seven miles northwest of Vandalia on Ill. Route 185.

Softfire to present program on Aug. 12

A husband-and-wife duo known at Softfire will be in concert at First Church of Mulberry Grove on Friday, Aug. 12, at 7 p.m.
The program is free, but an offering will be taken. The program is sponsored by the Mulberry Grove Ministerial Alliance.
