State Rep. John Cavaletto (R-Salem) voted against legislation presented last Thursday that would ban the use of cellphones while driving in Illinois. Despite his opposition, the cellphone ban was approved by the Illinois House.
“The problem we have in Illinois, and our nation, is government is too involved in our lives,” Cavaletto said.
“Banning cell phones won’t stop car accidents from taking place. People can still be distracted by eating, listening to the radio, putting on makeup or in a bunch of other ways,” he said.
