While many candidates are in the home stretch of runs for public office this November, others are just beginning their efforts to win elected offices.
Last Tuesday was the first day that individuals interested in running for positions to be filled on April 5 of next year could begin circulating nominating petitions.
On the ballot next spring are full, four-year terms for half of the seats on local city councils and village boats, as well as seats on local school boards, park districts, library boards, community college boards and regional boards of school trustees.
