? Catholic Charities' Ramblin' Rose Bus, which provides free basic school supplies and clothing for children in grades K-12, will be at the Lions Club pavilion in Ramsey from 4-6 p.m.
Friday, July 13

? An American Red Cross blood drive will be held from 2-6 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Ramsey.
? Bingo is held at Crawford-Hale American Legion Post 95 home. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and bingo begins at 7 p.m.
? A Nar-Anon meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at Northside Christian Church, 1845 W. Jackson St., Vandalia.
? "Movies Under the Stars," held by State Farm agent Clint Simpson and the Vandalia Lions Club, is at dusk at the Vandalia Lions Club pavilion at Vandalia Lake. The movie is "The Santa Clause."

Saturday, July 14

? The Fayette County 4-H Show gets under way with the 4-H and junior horse and pony show at 9 a.m. and the 4-H and junior rabbit show at 3 p.m.
? The Fourgiven Quartet will perform in concert at 6 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 127 N. Fourth St., Vandalia.

Sunday, July 15

? Immanuel Lutheran Church in Augsburg will celebrate the church's 100th anniversary. The celebration includes a special service at 2 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
? The annual Stein-Stine reunion will be held in the St. Elmo Community Park Centennial Building. Those attending are asked to take a dish or two to share and their own table service for the 12:30 p.m. potluck meal. Drinks will be provided. Also take family news, updates and old reunion photos to share. Family tree charts will be available.
? The Fayette County 4-H Show continues with the poultry show at noon, judging of classes J, K, L, M and O at 1 p.m. and goat show at 4 p.m.
? The Fayette County Fair in Brownstown gets under way. The grandstand event is a demolition derby at 3 p.m.
Monday, July 16

? The Fayette County 4-H Show continues with the sheep show at 8 a.m., 4-H beef and dairy steer shows at 11 a.m. and swine show at 5 p.m. The carnival runs from Monday through Saturday, with armbands ($15) accepted from 6-10 p.m.
? "Summer Lunches for Kids" is available every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 11-11:30 a.m., at the Fayette County Health Department, Rogier Park gazebo on Fillmore Street and Kelly Park on West Main Street in Vandalia, the township building in Shobonier and the township garage parking lot in Vera.
? The Fayette County Fair in Brownstown continues. The grandstand event is the Miss Fayette and Little Miss Fayette pageants at 7 p.m.
? The Vandalia Women of the Moose meet at 5:30 p.m. at the Vandalia Moose Lodge.
? Fayette County Mothers of Preschoolers meets at 6:30 p.m. in the back room of the St. Elmo Public Library. Mothers of children ages newborn to kindergarten-age are invited. Snacks and child care is provided.
? The Vandalia City Council meets at 7:30 p.m. at city hall.
? The Fayette County Democratic Central Committee meets at 7:30 p.m. at the Senior Citizens Center, 616 W. Jackson St., Vandalia.
? An adult swim night will be held from 8-10 p.m. at the Vandalia Swimming Pool. It is open to ages 20 and over, and the cost is $2 per person.

Tuesday, July 17

? The Christian Ladies Breakfast Club meets at 9:30 a.m. at Denny's in Vandalia. For more information, contact Faye Watson, 267-8487.
? "Summer Lunches for Kids" is available from 11-11:30 a.m. every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in Lions Park in Ramsey.
? The Vandalia Rotary Club meets at noon at Ponderosa Steakhouse.
? The Vandalia Rotary Club will hold an American Red Cross blood drive from noon-6 p.m. at the Vandalia Moose Lodge. Presenting donors will receive a free commemorative St. Louis Cardinals blood drive T-shirt.
? The Vandalia Board of Education meets at 5 p.m. in the district's administration center.
? The Fayette County Fair in Brownstown continues. The 4-H Auction is at 6 p.m., and the Jr. Miss and Future Miss pageant is at 7 p.m.

Wednesday, July 18

? The Fayette County 4-H Show continues with the dog show at 2 p.m. and cat show at 4 p.m.
? The Fayette County Fair in Brownstown continues. The grandstand event is a truck and tractor pull at 7 p.m.

Thursday, July 19

? The Fayette County 4-H Show continues with the general projects show at 8 a.m.
? Soroptimist International meets at noon in the Lincoln Room at Ponderosa Steakhouse in Vandalia. Heather Bundy of SWAN (Stopping Women Abuse Now) will speak on the domestic violence services available from the agency. The program is open to the public, and those intested in attending are asked to RSVP by next Wednesday to 322-6538 or janice.hejl@gamil.com. Those attending may purchase their lunch if they wish to eat.
