? A Christian Community Coffee Clatch is held from 9-10:30 a.m. at Northside Christian Church, 1845 W. Jackson St., Vandalia. It is open to all adults, with free coffee and pastries.
? Area schools will dismiss early for school improvement and will be closed on Thursday and Friday.

Thursday, November 22

THANKSGIVING

? Fayette County Habitat for Humanity is holding its 12th annual free community Thanksgiving meal from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the American Legion Home in Vandalia. Reservations are not required. Deliveries will be made to shut-ins only.
? A free Thanksgiving meal organized by Robyn Redman and Kelly Washburn is being provided from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Brownstown VFW Post Home, 520 E. Oak St., Brownstown.

Friday, November 23

? A Nar-Anon meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at Northside Christian Church, 1845 W. Jackson St., Vandalia.

Saturday, November 24

? A Shop Small Kickoff Breakfast for the start of #shopsmall in Vandalia will be held from 8:30-10:30 a.m. The breakfast is free, and attendees can meet with local business owners and will receive a list of participating local businesses offering promotions during the day.

Monday, November 26

? The Vandalia Lions Club meets at Ponderosa Steakhouse. The meal is at 6 p.m., the club meeting at 6:30 p.m.

Tuesday, November 27

? The Christian Ladies Breakfast Club meets at 9:30 a.m. at Denny's in Vandalia. Those who wish may purchase breakfast. For more information, contact Faye Watson at 267-8487.
? The Vandalia Rotary Club meets at noon at Ponderosa Steakhouse.
? The Fayette County Board of Health meets at 5:30 p.m. at the Fayette County Health Department, 416 W. Edwards St., Vandalia.
? The Alzheimer's support group at Aperion Care, 221 Cumberland Road in St. Elmo, meets at 6 p.m.

Friday, November 30

? A fish fry to benefit the Vandalia Community High School post-prom will be held from 4-7 p.m. at Vandalia Junior High School. An all-you-can-eat buffet prepared by Country Rhodes includes fish, chicken strips, mini-shrimp, steak fries, potato salad, cole slaw, applesauce and baked beans. The cost is $11 for adults and carry-outs, and $6 for childern ages 6 and under.
? Bingo is held at Crawford-Hale American Legion Post 95 home. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and bingo begins at 7 p.m.
? A Nar-Anon meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at Northside Christian Church, 1845 W. Jackson St., Vandalia.

Saturday, December 1

? The Mad Dogs Motorcycle Club's 35th annual Toys for Tots Christmas Party will be held at the clubhouse in Vera. Gates open at 6 p.m.; admission is $10 per person or a toy worth $10, with all proceeds going to Fayette County Caring & Sharing's Toys for Tots. The public is invited. Toy Party T-shirts will be available. Music by Thirst 'N' Howell is at 8 p.m.
