Thursday, March 7

✔ TOPS IL 2490 will meet from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Ramsey. Weigh-in is from 9-9:30 a.m. For more information, contact Dovie Heaton-Bergin at 283-1729.
✔ TOPS IL 1872, Ramsey, will meet at the Christian Church in Ramsey. Weigh-in is at 6:20 p.m., and the meeting is at 7 p.m.
Friday, March 8

✔ The Fayette County Knights of Columbus will hold a fish fry from 5-7:30 p.m. every Friday through March 22 at the Mother of Dolors Church Parish Center. The cost of the all-you-can-eat meal is $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 5-11, with children under 5 eating free of charge. The menu will include fried fish, baked fish, French fries, cole claw and green beans. Carry-outs will be available.
✔ The St. Elmo/Brownstown track and field program will hold a trivia night at 7 p.m. in the Brownstown Elementary School cafeteria. The cost is $5 per person, with teams of up to eight people allowed. Teams may bring their own food; drinks will be sold.
Saturday, March 9

✔ The St. Elmo Lions Club will hold its annual pancake and sausage breakfast from 7 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Phillips Building on U.S. Route 40. The cost is $5. A 50/50 drawing will be held, with the proceeds to benefit the Lions' scholarship fund.
✔ The Central Illinois Mobile Foodbank will be at the Vandalia Community High School parking lot at 10 a.m., rain or shine. Food will be available on a first-come, first-served basis; past foodbank visits have been completed in one to two hours.
✔ The first audition for the Vandalia Idol competition sponsored by Soroptimist International of Vandalia will be held at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Vandalia. The event is open to the public, and admission is $3 per person.
Sunday, March 10

✔ St. Paul's Lutheran Church will hold its annual barbecue from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The menu will include homemade pork barbecue, baked potato, green beans, cole slaw, apple sauce, desserts and beverages. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children under age 6. The church is located seven miles east and one mile south of Shobonier, and five miles west and one mile south of St. Peter.
Monday, March 11

✔ U.S. Congressman John Shimkus (R-Ill., 15th District) is scheduled to hold office hours in the oval office at the Fayette County Courthouse from 2:30-4 p.m. While appointments are not required, those wishing to make an appointment should call 1-217-3477947.
✔ The Vandalia Lions Club will meet at Days Inn. The executive board meets at 5:15 p.m., and the regular club meeting and dinner is at 6 p.m.
Tuesday, March 12

✔ The Network Masters chapter of Business Networking International, which includes Vandalia, meets every Tuesday morning in the conference room at 3 Point Ink, 1550 U.S. Route 40 in Greenville. Open marketing begins at 7:45 a.m., and the meeting runs from 8-9:30 a.m. For more information, contact chapter President Greg Tomlinson at 292-2267.
✔ The Vandalia Rotary Club will meet at noon at Ponderosa Steakhouse.
✔ TOPS IL 2020 will meet in the Fayette County Hospital conference room. Weigh-in is from 5-5:30 p.m., with the meeting to follow.
✔ Rainbow Reflections, a local grief support group, will meet from 6-7 p.m. in Wesley Hall at First United Methodist Church. Those planning to attend are asked to call Mary Miller at 292-5366.
✔ A 4-H shooting club that is being formed meets at 6 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month at Buckstop Archery south of Brownstown. For more information, call Matt Mather at 283-9444.
✔ The Fayette County Board will meet at 7 p.m. in the large courtroom at the Fayette County Courthouse.

✔ The Vandalia Eagles and Auxiliary will meet at 7:30 p.m. at the Vandalia Eagles Club.
✔ The Fayette County Farm Bureau will hold a meeting to reorganize the Fayette County Young Leaders group. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. in the basement of the Fayette County Farm Bureau building, 1125 Sunset Drive, Vandalia. Members of Young Leaders are individuals 18-35 years of age who are interested in farming. Young Leader District 14 leader Alan Krasten will be at the meeting.
