Thursday, December 6

✔ TOPS IL 2490 will meet from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Ramsey. Weigh-in is from 9-9:30 a.m. For more information, contact Dovie Heaton-Bergin at 283-1729.
✔ TOPS IL 1872, Ramsey, will meet at the Christian Church in Ramsey. Weigh-in is at 6:20 p.m., and the meeting is at 7 p.m.
Friday, December 7

✔ The Vandalia Junior High School student council will host Family Movie Night in the school's gym on Friday, Dec. 7. "The Polar Express" will be shown at 6 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. Admission is one non-perishable food item per person. All children must be supervised by an adult, and all present will have a chance to win a copy of "The Polar Express" book or movie. Concessions will be available, and Santa Claus will make an appearance.
Saturday, December 8

✔ The Vandalia Statehouse will hold its annual Christmas Open House from 4-6:30 p.m. The first 100 families to register will receive a Christmas ornament, and cookies and cider will be served.
✔ Happy Hollow Farms, located east and south of Pinnacle Foods in St. Elmo, will present "A Country Christmas" from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday and 1-5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $1 per  person or a non-perishable food item, with the proceeds going to the Fayette County Food Pantry.
✔ The Vandalia Elementary School Honor Chorus will perform "Santa's Holiday Hoedown – a Christmas Jamboree" at 7:30 p.m. in the VES gym. The performance is free and open to the public.

Sunday, December 2

✔ The Brownstown High School class of 1965 will hold a dedication ceremony at 2 p.m. at the baseball diamond at the elementary school for three trees planted in memory of Melvin Willms and other deceased classmates.
✔ The Brownstown Junior High-High School band and choir will perform at 2 p.m. in the high school gym.
✔ The Vandalia junior high and high school chorus students will present their Christmas concert at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Vandalia.
Monday, December 10

✔ The Vandalia Lions Club will hold its Christmas party at Days Inn. The meal is at 6 p.m.
✔ The Brownstown Elementary School students will present their Christmas program, "Radio XMAS," at 7 p.m. in the high school gym.
Tuesday, December 11

✔ The Network Masters chapter of Business Networking International, which includes Vandalia, meets every Tuesday morning in the conference room at 3 Point Ink, 1550 U.S. Route 40 in Greenville. Open marketing begins at 7:45 a.m., and the meeting runs from 8-9:30 a.m. For more information, contact chapter President Greg Tomlinson at 292-2267.
✔ The Vandalia Rotary Club will meet at noon at Ponderosa Steakhouse.
✔ TOPS IL 2020 will meet in the Fayette County Hospital conference room. Weigh-in is from 5-5:30 p.m., with the meeting to follow.
✔ Rainbow Reflections, a local grief support group, will meet from 6-7 p.m. in Wesley Hall at First United Methodist Church. Those planning to attend are asked to call Mary Miller at 292-5366.
✔ A 4-H shooting club that is being formed meets at 6 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month at Buckstop Archery south of Brownstown. For more information, call Matt Mather at 283-9444.
✔ Evans Public Library Board of Trustees will meet at 7 p.m. at the library.
✔ The Fayette County Board meets at 7 p.m. at the courthouse.
Wednesday, December 12
✔ FAYCO Enterprises will hold an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony at its new recycling center, located at 2022 Wagner St. in Vandalia, just east of Graham Packaging. Refreshments will be served.
✔ The Vandalia Eagles Aerie and Auxiliary will meet at 7:30 p.m. at the Vandalia Eagles Club.
