Thursday, November 1

✔ TOPS IL 2490 will meet from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Ramsey. Weigh-in is from 9-9:30 a.m. For more information, contact Dovie Heaton-Bergin at 283-1729.
✔ TOPS IL 1872, Ramsey, will meet at the Christian Church in Ramsey. Weigh-in is at 6:20 p.m., and the meeting is at 7 p.m.
Friday, November 2
✔ Jefferson Primary School in Vandalia will hold its annual Fun Fest from 5-8 p.m. The event will include a variety of games and activities, as well as a chili and hot dog supper. From 4:30-8 p.m., licensed drivers age 18 and over may participate in the Chrysler Brand Drive for the Kids; each driver will earn $10 for the school.
Saturday, November 3

✔ The 32nd annual Perry Biggs Memorial Fiddle Contest and Bluegrass Show will be held at 5 p.m. at the Patoka Civic Center. Performers will include the Worthington Family Bluegrass Band, country singer Brenda Cook of Sullivan, Mo., Lane Mayfield of Vandalia and the national open fiddle champion George Portz and His Friends of Bluegrass. A cajun music set is also planned. Full dinners, sandwiches and desserts will be served all evening.
Sunday, November 4

✔ The Shoal Creek chapter of ABATE will hold its monthly meeting at 1 p.m. at the VFW Home in Greenville.
✔ Fayette County Museum will present the second of three performances in its Season of Entertainment series at 2 p.m. in the fellowship hall of First United Methodist Church in Vandalia. Storyteller Linda Dust will present Historical Family Stories. Tickets are $13 in advance at the museum and $15 at the door, with students tickets being half-price.
Monday, November 5

✔ Northside Christian Church, located at 1845 W. Jackson St., Vandalia, will hold an hour of prayer at 6 p.m. The prayer session is being held prior to the presidential election to offer prayers for our country.
✔ The Vandalia Women of the Moose will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Vandalia Moose Lodge.
✔ The Vandalia City Council will meet at 7:30 p.m. at city hall.
Tuesday, November 6
ELECTION DAY
Polls open from 6 a.m.-7 p.m.
✔ The Network Masters chapter of Business Networking International, which includes Vandalia, meets every Tuesday morning in the conference room at 3 Point Ink, 1550 U.S. Route 40 in Greenville. Open marketing begins at 7:45 a.m., and the meeting runs from 8-9:30 a.m. For more information, contact chapter President Greg Tomlinson at 292-2267.
✔ Evans Public Library in Vandalia will hold a preschool lapsit story time at 10 a.m. The November theme is "I'm Thankful for ..."
✔ Heartland Human Services will hold a Caregiver Connection seminar, "National Family Caregiver Month," from 3-4 p.m. at Brookstone Estates, 1607 W. Fillmore St., Vandalia. Refreshments will be provided.
✔ TOPS IL 2020 will meet in the Fayette County Hospital conference room. Weigh-in is from 5-5:30 p.m., with the meeting to follow.
✔ Rainbow Reflections, a local grief support group, will meet from 6-7 p.m. in Wesley Hall at First United Methodist Church. Those planning to attend are asked to call Mary Miller at 292-5366.
Wednesday, November 7

✔ The Vandalia Chamber of Commerce will meet at noon in the Lincoln Room at Ponderosa Steakhouse. A luncheon will be followed by a business meeting and program.
