? A women's Bible study will be held on Thursdays from Aug. 22-Sept. 26, at 6:30 p.m., at Northside Christian Church, 1845 W. Jackson St. (west of Sunset Drive), Vandalia. It is a DVD Bible study with Kay Arthur, Priscilla Shirer and Beth Moore. All women are invited. For more information, call 283-1970.

? A food truck will be at Charters Patio from 11-5 p.m., weather permitting.
? There is no bingo at the American Legion Home in Vandalia at 7 p.m.
? A Nar-Anon meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at Northside Christian Church, 1845 W. Jackson St., Vandalia.

Saturday, September 21

? The 9-Mile Gut Check is being held at 8 a.m. by Brownstown VFW Post 9770 and Crawford-Hale American Legion Post 95 in Vandalia. Walkers and runners will leave  the Legion Home at 221 S. Seventh St. in Vandalia and go to the VFW Home in Brownstown.
? Vandalia's Little Community Garden's Harvest Festival will be held from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at Mother of Dolors Parish Center, 705 W. St. Clair St., Vandalia It will include fresh produce, herbs, pumpkins and gourds; homemade jams and jellies; canned goods; flowers; about 25 vendors and lunch.
? Adventurer Cruisers' cruise night is from 5-8 p.m. at Sonic on Veterans Avenue. All cars, trucks and motorcycles are welcome. It will include free give-aways and a 50/50 raffle. There is no registration fee.
? The Fayette County Cancer Fund is holding its third annual Carnival in the Park from 1-6 p.m. at Rogier Park on West Fillmore Street in Vandalia. The carnival will include three bounce houses, carnival games, balloon art, facepainting, crafts for children, ticket raffle, entertainment, food and numerous vendors. All of the money generated from the carnival will be used to assist residents of Fayette County who are battling cancer.
? The Vandalia Alumni and Friends Foundation is holding its All-School Reunion. It includes a tour of Vandalia Community High School at 11 a.m. and the all-school reunion at the Vandalia Moose Lodge, with a social hour at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m. and the presentation of the foundation's Distinguished Alumni Award to 1984 VCHS graduate Andrew Doehring.

Sunday, September 22

? Unity Baptist Church is celebrating the 125th anniversary of the two churches that formed Unity Baptist – First Baptist Church and Temple Baptist Church. The morning worship is at 10:45 a.m. and the anniversary celebration is at 2 p.m.

Monday, September 23

? The Vandalia Lions Club meets at Ponderosa Steakhouse. The meal is at 6 p.m. and club meeting at 6:30  p.m.

Tuesday, September 24

? The Vandalia Rotary Club meets at noon at Ponderosa Steakhouse.
? The Alzheimer's support group at Aperion Care, located at 221 Cumberland Road in St. Elmo, meets at 6 p.m.

? The Fayette County Retired Teachers will meet at 10:30 a.m. at Ponderosa Steakhouse in Vandalia. All retired teachers are invited. For more information, contact Diane Curll at 283-0492.

? Evans Public Library is holding a Fantastic Friday at 4 p.m. Children up to age 10 are invited to listen to stories and make a craft of their choice. Registration is required; to register, call the library, 283-2824.

Saturday, September 28

? The Vandalia Historical Society's Wine & Ale with Abe will be held from noon-9 p.m. at Gallatin and Fourth streets. It will include wine and craft beer tastings, live bands, local food stands and numerous vendors. Limited seating will be available for the kid-friendly event, and attendees may take lawn chairs and blankets.

Sunday, September 29

? The Fayette County Health Department is holding its annual memorial service for individuals who have died in the past year at 2 p.m. at First Church of God on Thrill Hill Road northwest of Vandalia. It will include a slide presentation featuring those individuals.
