? Ramsey Daze get under way with a carnival from 5-10 p.m., face-painting from 5-8 p.m. and music by "Battle Creek" from 7-10 p.m.
Friday, June 13

? Ramsey Daze continues with a carnival and face-painting at 5 p.m.; Little Miss, Mr. and Miss Teen pageants at 6 p.m.; antique tractor pull at 6 p.m.; and music by Bill Oliver and Okaw Valley Opry musicians from 7-10 p.m.
Saturday, June 14

? The Town and Country Art Show and Professional Art Shows gets under way at the Fayette County Museum, Kennedy Boulevard and Main Street, Vandalia. The museum is open from 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and from 1-4 p.m. on  the next two Sundays.
? CenterPointe Church will hold an outdoor flea market from 8 a.m.-2 p.m., weather permitting. The market will be held in the parking lot of the church, the former Rural King building on Veterans Avenue. The market is open to the public, and there is a small fee for booths. The proceeds will be used for church remodeling and youth activities. For more information, call 423-2815 after 6 p.m.
? Ramsey Daze continues with a sand volleyball tournament at 9 a.m.; garden tractor pull at 10 a.m.; barbecue cook-off from noon-6 p.m.; parade at 4 p.m.; cake walk at 5 p.m.; face-painting at 5 p.m.; and music by "Kiln Tyme" from 7-10 p.m.
? Historic Vandalia Inc. will hold a Garden Party from 1-4 p.m. at the Fayette County Museum in Vandalia. Baroque Folk will perform period music, and finger food samples from the museum's 35th anniversary cookbook will be provided. Donations will be accepted.
? A benefit for Roy Evans Jr. of St. Elmo will be held at 11 a.m. at the Altamont VFW Home. It will include a meal, with donations accepted; bake sale; cake walk; kids' games; auctions; 50/50 drawing; quilt raffle; gun raffle and tip board raffles. All proceeds go to medical expenses, medication and travel.
? A celebration party and fundraiser for Republicans Vicky Conder, candidate for county clerk, and Chris Smith, candidate for sheriff, will be held at 5 p.m. in the Vandalia Lake campground. It includes a whole hog cookout, wine tasting and music by "Tress and the Mixers." Tickets are $15 per person or $25 for a couple.
Sunday, June 15

? The Okaw Saddle Club, located at Thrill Hill Road and Lakewood Drive, northwest of Vandalia off of Ill. Route 185, will hold an open horse show. Pleasure classes begin at 9 a.m., and speed classes begin at 1 p.m.
Monday, June 16

? The Women of the Moose will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Vandalia Moose Lodge.
? The Old Capitol Post 3862 VFW Auxiliary meets at 7 p.m. at the VFW Home on West St. Louis Avenue.
? The Vandalia City Council meets at 7:30 p.m. at city hall.
Tuesday, June 17
? The Fayette County Health Department will offer hospice volunteer training from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the FCHD facilities at 16 W. Edwards St., Vandalia. Volunteer hospice activities include home visits, music therapy, Baking Brigade and Gifts of Love. Those interested should call 283-7262. Other training dates are Sept. 16 and Nov. 10.
? The Vandalia Rotary Club meets at noon at Ponderosa Steakhouse.
? Evans Public Library in Vandalia invites children of all ages to meet local veterinarian Dr. Connie Heaton as part of its summer program. The program is at 1 p.m. at the library.

? The Vandalia Board of Education meets at 5 p.m. in the district's administration center.
? TOPS IL 2020 will meet in the Fayette County Hospital conference room. Weigh-in is from 5-5:30 p.m., with the meeting to follow.
? A Weight Watchers meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Vandalia; weigh-in is at 5 p.m. Visitors are welcome to attend the meeting free of charge.
? Rainbow Reflections, a grief support group, will meet from 6-7 p.m. in Wesley Hall at First United Methodist Church, 127 N. Fourth St., Vandalia. Those planning to attend are asked to contact Mary Miller, 292-5366.
