? The Fayette County Fair continues. The grandstand attraction is the C-Bar Rodeo. Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-11. Pit passes are $15.
Friday, July 18

? The Fayette County Fair continues. The grandstand attraction is the Clayton Anderson concert, with "Cedar Ridge Band" and "Twisted Road" also performing. Grandstand tickets are $10, and trackside tickets are $15.
? A mini-Relay for Life will be held from 7-10 p.m. in the top loop of the Lincoln Loop Walking Path in Rogier Park on West Fillmore Street. It will include an opening ceremony at 7 p.m., karate demonstration at 7:05 p.m., music by Josh Nicolaides at 7:50 p.m., music by "Forgetting January" at 8:30 p.m. and luminaria ceremony at 9:15 p.m., with cancer survivor Emily Leidner speaking. Luminaries are still available; contact Tiffany Hipsher at 780-0710 or stop by WPMB-WKRV Radio. A bounce house for kids will be available, with armbands for the entire night available for $5.
Saturday, July 19

? Lenora (McNutt) Henson, author of "The Wicked Garden Series," will have book signings from 10-11 a.m. at St. Elmo Public Library and from 1-2 p.m. at Words, Wicks and Wood in Vandalia. Henson's six-book drama takes place in Southcentral Illinois, Carbondale and Scotland.
? The Fayette County Fair ends, with the grandstand attraction on the final night being a talent show and performance by YMCA karate students at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and $1 for children ages 6-11, with those 5 and under admitted free.
? Hillsboro's 19th annual Olde Tyme Tractor Show will be held Saturday and Sunday at Lake Hillsboro Park. Registration of entries begins at 9 a.m. both days, and there will be demonstrations of threshing, silage chopping, bale loading and possibly others, at about 11 a.m. The Hillsboro FFA chapter will hold a kiddie tractor pull for ages 3-8 at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, followed by modified pulls for other ages, including adults. Tractor lawn games are at 1 p.m. both days. The event will include crafters and vendors.
Monday, July 21
? The Women of the Moose will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Vandalia Moose Lodge.
? Temperance Lodge No. 16 A.F. & A.M. in Vandalia will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge.
? The Vandalia City Council meets at 7:30 p.m. at city hall.
Tuesday, July 22
? An American Red Cross blood drive, sponsored by the Vandalia Rotary Club and Vandalia Woman's Club, will be held from noon-6 p.m. at the Vandalia Moose Lodge. While supplies last, presenting donors will receive a St. Louis Cardinals T-shirt. To schedule an appointment, go online to www.redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code: VandaliaMoose or call 1-800-RED CROSS. Donors are asked to present a photo ID card.
? The Vandalia Rotary Club meets at noon at Ponderosa Steakhouse.
? TOPS IL 2020 will meet in the Fayette County Hospital conference room. Weigh-in is from 5-5:30 p.m., with the meeting to follow.
? A Weight Watchers meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Vandalia; weigh-in is at 5 p.m. Visitors are welcome to attend the meeting free of charge.
? Rainbow Reflections, a grief support group, will meet from 6-7 p.m. in Wesley Hall at First United Methodist Church, 127 N. Fourth St., Vandalia. Those planning to attend are asked to contact Mary Miller, 292-5366.
