? Soroptimist International of Vandalia meets at noon in the Lincoln Room at Ponderosa Steakhouse.
? CenterPointe Church, located at 1616 Veterans Ave. in Vandalia, is holding free Weekly Fit Club sessions at 6 p.m. every Thursday.
? TOPS IL 1872, Ramsey, will meet at the Christian Church in Ramsey. Weigh-in is at 6:20 p.m. and the meeting is at 7 p.m.
? A NAR-ANON meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at Northside Christian Church, 1845 W. Jackson St., Vandalia. The group meets to: learn that drug abuse is an illness; encourage addicts to seek help; replace despair with hope; improve the family attitude; help individuals regain self-confidence.

Friday, Feb. 19

? Cosmic Bingo to benefit the Brownstown ESP (Educational Support Personnel Scholarship Fund is being held at the Vandalia Moose Lodge. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and bingo begins at 7 p.m. The cost is $25 per person, and the event includes music by a DJ.
? The American Legion Home in Vandalia hosts bingo.

Saturday, Feb. 20

? Area residents who attended Lincoln School in Vandalia may walk through the building and purchase items used in the school from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. (See separate story).
? A benefit for cancer patient Tammy "Banjo" England will be held from 3 p.m.-midnight at the Vandalia Moose Lodge. The benefit will include food from 3-6 p.m., live music by Van Waylon Band from 9 p.m.-midnight, 50/50 drawing, gun raffles and live auction. The menu includes barbecue sandwich and chili, chili with peanut butter sandwich, and hot dogs. Donations for the benefit may be dropped off at Willy's Restaurant in Vandalia.

Sunday, Feb. 21

? A Daddy-Daughter Dance will be held from 6-8 p.m. at 2511 Veterans Drive in Effingham. The evening includes dancing; finger foods; shared artwork, photos, stories and other things that fathers can provide to make their daughters feel special. The event benefits the Kid to Kind International program. The cost is $30 per couple and $10 for each additional daughter. The event is open to daughters age 5 through adult and their fathers. Monday, Feb. 22

? The Vandalia Lions Club will hold a noon meeting at Ponderosa Steakhouse.
? An American Red Cross blood drive will be held from 2-6 p.m. at the St. Peter Village Hall, sponsored by the St. Peter American Legion and Auxiliary.
? Northside Christian Church, located at 1845 W. Jackson St. in Vandalia, is offering "Clubhouse," a homework assistance program, from 3-5:15 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Tuesday, Feb. 23

? The Vandalia Rotary Club meets at noon at Ponderosa.
? Rainbow Reflections, a local grief support group, will meet from 6-7 p.m. in Wesley Hall at First United Methodist Church, 127 N. Fourth St., Vandalia. Those planning to attend the meeting are asked to contact Mary Miller at 292-5366.

Wednesday, Feb. 24

? The Vandalia Ministerial Alliance will hold a Lenten Luncheon from noon-1 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church.

? The Okaw Valley Longbeards Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation will hold its 21st annual Hunting Heritage Super Fund Banquet at the Vandalia Moose Lodge. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the event includes a meal, raffles, prizes and items available for purchase. The ticket price of $45 per person and $55 for couples includes a one-year subcription to Turkey Country, the full-color NWTF publication. Saturday, Feb. 27

? The Fillmore Sportsmen's Club will hold a membership drive fundraiser at Fillmore Lake, beginning at 10 a.m. The event include a free fun shoot, with clay birds furnished; raffles; and food provided by the club from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
