? An American Red Cross blood drive will be held from 3-7 p.m. at First Baptist Church on U.S. Route 51 in Ramsey.
? The Vandalia Park District meeting scheduled for this Thursday afternoon has been canceled due to a lack of quorom. It will be rescheduled in the near future, and notice of the meeting will be posted on our website and Facebook page.
? A Wall Dog committee meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at the National Road Interpretive Center, 106 S. Fifth St., Vandalia. The public is invited and encouraged to offer suggestions regarding murals in downtown Vandalia.

? The Crawford-Hale American Legion Unit 95 Auxiliary will hold its monthly meetings at the Legion Home, 321 S. Seventh St. in Vandalia. The executive committee meets at 5:30 p.m., committee meetings are at 6 p.m. and the regular meeting, with installation of officers, is at 7 p.m.
? CenterPointe Church, located at 1616 Veterans Ave. in Vandalia, is holding free Weekly Fit Club sessions at 6 p.m. every Thursday.
? TOPS IL 1872, Ramsey, will meet at the Christian Church in Ramsey. Weigh-in is at 6:20 p.m. and the meeting is at 7 p.m.
? The Fayette County Fair continues. In the grandstand is stock car racing at 7 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $3 for ages 6-11; children 5 and under are admitted free. Pit passes are $30.

Friday, July 15

? Crawford-Hale American Legion Post 95 and Auxiliary Unit 95 hold bingo at the Legion Home, 321 S. Seventh St., Vandalia. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and bingo begins at 7 p.m. The kitchen will be open.
? The Vandalia Swimming Pool will hold Moonlight Madness from 6-11:30 p.m. Admission is $6 per person.
? A Nar-Anon meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at Northside Christian Church, 1845 W. Jackson St., Vandalia. The group meets to: learn that drug abuse is an illness; encourage addicts to seek help; replace despair with hope; improve the family attitude; help individuals regain self-confidence.

Saturday, July 16

? The Fayette County Fair continues. In the grandstand is C-Bar Rodeo at 7 p.m. Admiss is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-11; children age 5 and under are admitted free. Pit passes are $15.
? Dash for Lash will hold a Glow Run 5K at Rogier Park in Vandalia. Registration begins at 7 p.m., and the run begins at 8 p.m. All proceeds go to the Madison Lash Benefit Fund. The entry fee is $30.The registration form is available online at www.thelashfamily.com.

Monday, July 18

? The Women of the Moose meet at 5:30 p.m. at the Vandalia Moose Lodge.
? The VFW Auxiliary meets at 7 p.m.

Tuesday, July 19

? The Vandalia Rotary Club meets at noon at Ponderosa.
? An American Red Cross blood drive will be held from noon-6 p.m. at the Vandalia Moose Lodge, sponsored by the Vandalia Rotary Club. All presenting donors will receive a St. Louis Cardinals T-shirt, while supplies last, and a drawing will be held for eight Cardinals tickets.
? The Vandalia Board of Education meets at 5 p.m. at the district's administration center.

Wednesday, July 20

? Summer Lunches for Kids is offered from 11-11:30 a.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday in Vandalia, Shobonier and Vera, and from 11-11:30 a.m. every Wednesday in Ramsey and from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. every Wednesday in Brownstown.

? Kaskaskia College is hosting a community meeting regarding the Vandalia Campus LPN courses at 6 p.m.

? The Vandalia Moose Lodge is not holding bingo during the summer months. Bingo will resume at 7 p.m. on Sept. 7.
