Friday, December 16
? A ceremony for the unveiling of a portrait of retiring Illinois Appellate Court Judge S. Gene Schwarm will be held at 3 p.m. in the large courtroom of the Fayette County Courthouse. The ceremony will feature remarks from Judge Lloyd Karmeier, chief justice of the Illinois Supreme Court.
? The Tri-County Beekeepers will meet at 7 p.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1540 E. State Route 140, Greenville. The meeting will include a white elephant exchange, potluck and movie.
? The St. Peter Volunteer Fire Department will hold its inaugural Christmas Auction at 6 p.m. in the gym at St. Peter's Lutheran School. It will feature some ERTL and collectible tractors. Toys are being donated to help local families. For more information, call 322-6754.
? Crawford-Hale American Legion Post 95 will hold bingo at the Legion Home. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and bingo begins at 7 p.m.

First National Bank in Vandalia, Ramsey, Patoka, Greenville and Mulberry Grove will host Santa and Mrs. Claus, Santa Minion and the FNB elves from 9-11 a.m. at the FNB Financial Center, 311 Banker Blvd., Vandalia. Free refreshments will be available, and visitors can play FNB's Plink-Plank-Plunk Board to win prizes.
Monday, December 19
? The Women of the Moose meet at 5:30 p.m. at the Vandalia Moose Lodge.
? Fayette County Mothers of Preschoolers meets at 6:30 p.m. in the back room of the St. Elmo Public Library. Mothers of children ages newborn to kindergarten-age are invited. Snacks and child care is provided.
? The Vandalia City County meets at 7:30 p.m. at city hall.

? The Vandalia Board of Education meets at 5 p.m. at the district's administration center.
