? Evans Public Library’s Homeschool Group will meet from 1-2 p.m. Anyone intersted in joining the group should contact Shawna Sprague at the library, 283-2824.

Friday, March 2

? The Vandalia Moose Lodge will hold a chicken and fish dinner from 5:30-6:30 p.m. The cost is $8 per person.
? Bingo is held at Crawford-Hale American Legion Post 95 home. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and bingo begins at 7 p.m.
? A Nar-Anon meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at Northside Christian Church, 1845 W. Jackson St., Vandalia.

Saturday, March 3

? The St. Elmo Lions Club will hold a pancake and sausage breakfast from 7 a.m.-1 p.m. at the St. Elmo American Legion Home. The cost is $5 per person. A 50/50 drawing will also be held, with the proceeds going to the Legion's scholarship fund.
? Evans Public Library will hold a Space Story Saturday at 10 a.m. Children of all ages are invited to listen to stories and make a craft.
Sunday, March 4

? The youth of First United Methodist Church in Vandalia are sponsoring a spaghetti dinner from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., or until the food runs out. Desserts will also be provided. The donated funds will be used for camperships at various Methodist camps this summer.
? The Ladies Aid/LWML at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Augsburg will hold its annual soup luncheon from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The menu will include a choice of chili or chicken noodle soup, with a chicken salad sandwich, peanut butter sandwich or grilled hot dog, as well as a large variety of homemade desserts and beverages. Free-will donations will be accepted, and carry-outs will be available. The Lutheran Women's Missionary League is a recognized service organization of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, which promotes mission work throughout the United States and abroad.

Monday, March 5

? A Christian Ladies Breakfast Club meets at 9:30 a.m. at Denny's. It is open to all women interested in Christian fellowship.
? The Fayette County Health Department Hospice grief support group meets from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at the health department, 416 W. Edwards St., Vandalia.
? The Women of the Moose meet at 5:30 p.m. at the Vandalia Moose Lodge.
? Fayette County Mothers of Preschoolers meets at 6:30 p.m. in the back room of the St. Elmo Public Library. Mothers of children ages newborn to kindergarten-age are invited. Snacks and child care is provided.
? The Vandalia City Council meets at 7:30 p.m. at city hall.

Wednesday, March 7

? The Vandalia Chamber of Commerce meets at noon at Ponderosa Steakhouse.

Thursday, March 8

? An American Red Cross blood drive will be held from 12:30-5:30 p.m. at South Central High School in Farina. To make an appointment, call 1-800-733-2767 or go online to redcrossblood.org.

? The Fayette County Cancer Fund will hold a public meeting at 7 p.m. in the large conference room at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia.

In the Future

? The Vandalia Bicentennial Committee will hold a Casino Night fundraiser from 6-11 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, at the American Legion Home, 321 S. Seventh St., Vandalia. Tickets, $50 each, are available at First National Bank's main branch in Vandalia, First Bank, Midland States Bank and National Bank. The evening will include dinner; black Jack, roulette and craps; prizes; and auctions.
